1964

Company formation

Alain and Suzanne Autajon started their business manufacturing folding cartons for pharmaceutical use in Montélimar (Rhône Valley, France). The Autajon company was taken over by their son Gérard Autajon in 1992.

1978

Diversification

The company is expanding its business into the Perfumes & Cosmetics markets.

1985

Opening up the Wine & Spirits market

The Autajon Group enters the wine and spirits market, laying the foundations for its expertise.

1990

Construction of a factory dedicated to luxury goods in Montélimar

A brand new site is opening in Montélimar: Autajon Packaging Montélimar CS. The site is entirely dedicated to the production of packaging for the luxury market.

1992

Creation of the Rigid Boxes business

Autajon is expanding its range with the launch of rigid boxes, combining artisanal expertise and process mastery.

1995

First external growth

The integration of the Saint-Étienne-based company Haubtmann complements Autajon’s business with the production of POS advertising and cardboard packaging for the automotive, textile, and confectionery sectors.

2001

International expansion

The German printing company Landerer, which specializes in folding cartons for perfumes and cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, and confectionery, joins the Autajon Group.
In 2002, the Group continues to expand and is now present in Switzerland.

2002

A new profession: wine labeling

The acquisition of a wine label company marked the Autajon Group’s entry into this new business, bringing it closer to winegrowers.

2006

Heading for America

The Autajon Group is investing in the US with the integration of Cultech, a company located near New York that specializes in folding cases for perfumes and cosmetics.

Construction of a new factory in 2009.

2009

Continuous development

The Autajon Group’s growth accelerated between 2006 and 2011, notably with the acquisition of Bopack (six industrial label production sites in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands).

2012 & 2013

Group consolidation

The growth of the Autajon Group has led companies to specialize in order to better meet customer needs.

In Spain, our full service offering is fully represented, with packaging at Autajon Packaging Durero and labels at Autajon Labels Sinel.

2014 & 2015

New extensions

Fincarta and Cograf join Autajon, with sites in Italy and the United States. We also integrate OGA, an Italian wine label printer, and Imprenta Moderna, a Spanish specialist in labels for beverages and confectionery. Eikon, an expert in labels for wines and oils, becomes Autajon’s first site in Portugal. Finally, Italy’s Grafiche Seven brings its expertise in in-mold labeling.

2016

First steps in Asia

The two Chinese Komark Labels factories join Autajon, which is now able to support its major global customers in their Asian growth.

2018

USA, establishment on the West Coast

California-based Thoro Packaging joins the Autajon Group, strengthening its cosmetics business and opening up the US pharmaceutical market.

2022

New growth in the United States and South Korea

Two new companies specializing in packaging join the Autajon Group!

Zapp Packaging, based in California, produces folding cartons for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, and consumer goods.
Pacific Package, based in South Korea, manufactures cartons and rigid boxes for the cosmetics industry.

2023

Packaging deployment in Portugal

GMT Graficos, a Portuguese company specializing in the manufacture of folding cartons, rigid boxes, and POS displays, has joined the Autajon Group. This new acquisition strengthens Autajon’s presence in Portugal and complements the range of services offered locally: packaging and labels.

2024

Deployment in the United Kingdom

In order to meet all the needs of our customers and prospects in the United Kingdom, the Autajon Group has acquired Simply Cartons and Royston Labels. This acquisition enables the Group to offer comprehensive packaging and labeling solutions closer to its customers.
