Logistics
The management of each Client-specific supply planning grid is based on a 12 month sliding forcast plan. They permit « production campaigns » that can significantly reduce production costs and therefore cost of goods sold.
The Logistics contract is defined by the following items :
- Orders
- Types of call
- Grid
- Forecasting
- Palletization
- Labelling
- Deliveries
- Old or obsolete stock
The written logistics contract outlines a proceedural plan to establish clear rules and eliminate ambiguities and random, undefined events.
Product specifications are an integral part of every order.
Whatever the product, cases, labels, pop displays etc, upon request for a product pricing, it is critical to clearly define the product specification :
- The inputs (nature: paper cardboard etc) and weight
- The product decoration: number of colours, finishing, quality enhancements
- The design format
The type of palletization depends on the following :
- The time it takes to prepare the palettes
- The consumption of american cases and of pallets
- The transport cost
Autajon has, for the convenience of its clients (urgent or last minute production requests) a emergency stock of the most commonly used production raw materials
Again for the convenience of its clients, Autajon possesses sufficient warehousing capacity to house finished goods (folding boxes, labels and cases):
This is in order to avoid the pitfalls of production raw material delays and the creation of this emergency stock is studied with the client to fit his specific needs for their particular markets.
The client, therefore finances the emergency stock in the event that this input is abandoned (material altered or production line discontinued etc.)
Autajon has sufficient warehousing capacity to stock and conserve the finished goods of its clients (folding boxes, labels and cases).
The warehousing service that we provide has a time limit of 6 months after the order date. (unless contractually agreed upon otherwise).
After this date the client must decide on the manner in which to deal with the stock (have delivered to them or destroyed) and will be billed accordingly.
The delayed use of packaging products (cases and labels) has many advantages :
- Reduction of production and delivery delays
- Rapid reaction to last minute needs
- Reduces the risk of obsolescence
- Just in time stock management
Each individual case deserves an in depth study with veritable cost savings.
The Extranet service is provided to specifically defined correspondents with password and who are Autajon clients.
In a couple of clicks, the extranet allows the client to access their own personal information such as :
- A detailed list of ready to ship articles
- A work in progress of your orders that includes forcasted shipment dates
- Shipment expedition information with possibility of email alarm upon departure of transport carrier
The transport delays depend on the product, the production site as well as the distance travelled
In general, shipment time is 24 hours for less than 400km (600 miles) by road transport
Beyond 400k (600 miles) the delay is in the 48 hour range.
If the client requests an emergency delivery, an 8 hour delay by road transport can be organized for a few pallets.
